Office of Student Management and Alternative Programs (OSMAP)

The Office of Student Management and Alternative Programs (OSMAP) manages student discipline and non-traditional programs.

Student discipline includes conducting long-term suspension hearings, readmission hearings, alternative placement appeal hearings, and criminal reassignment/disposition hearings.

The non-traditional programs include the following:


OSMAP's Goals

  • To provide a variety of educational opportunities that address the varied needs of students in Grades K-12 and adult learners. (Goal #1: All students meet high standards of performance.)

  • To promote a safe educational environment conducive to teaching and learning and free from violence, conflict, and unnecessary disruptions. (Goal #2: The teaching, learning and working environment is caring, safe, healthy, and values human diversity.)

  • To decrease the number of long-term suspensions and expulsions through a process that provides increased non-traditional education opportunities. (Goal #1: All students meet high standards of performance.)


VISION STATEMENT

The vision of the Office of Student Management and Alternative Programs (OSMAP) is to promote a safe and nurturing educational environment where all students, K-12 and adult learners, have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential – academically, socially, and emotionally.


MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of OSMAP is to provide a variety of educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students, K-12 and adult learners, through non-traditional education choices which foster responsible, productive, and contributing members of the community. OSMAP seeks to develop a continuum of services through partnerships with the school, home, and community to address the divergent needs of the whole person.
